Ten Page Paper

This past year for my AP English class, we were required to write a ten page research paper. The topic that I was assigned to write about was immigration laws. In particular, I had to discuss whether the immigration laws of today matched with the Catholic church's teachings on immigration. My argument was that the immigration laws of today do not match the church's teachings. I supported my argument by discussing immigration laws that exist today in America. I then analyzed and compared the laws to the teachings for the church discussed by the Catholic Bishops on immigration. I organized my paper by first picking a specific immigration law to talk about in a paragraph and followed up with a second paragraph on how the law goes against the Church. I most likely used rhetorical devices however at the time I was writing, I was not very aware of it.
