I used LeBron James's essay he wrote for sports illustrated when he announced his return to Cleveland, which happens to be a fairly current event. so it fits perfectlly with the point that I was trying to make; that athletes dont always forget where they came from.
Relevance
This point was relevant because it allowed me t get the point across that not all athletes forget who they are. The perfect point was lebron because of his previous betrayal of cleveland and is now in the midst of his triumphant return.
Purpose
The purpose of the citation was to get the words of the person himself into the paper. It really tied into what i was trying to say, and the quote was perfect. It gave my point that not all athletes forget where they came from and made it relevant. That is why i used that quote.

This is only one example. You say "the quote was perfect," but you don't explain why very well, or say the quote. How did Lebron "betray" Cleveland? Without context, this makes no sense.
